‘There’s a foxhole in my bed’ arrived on Thursday. It’s a wonderful book for kids! The illustrations are a delight, and the text (thank heavens) is written with perfect grammar and punctuation so I don’t have to get frustrated or find a red pen when I read it. My granddaughter wants to know everything, so each page takes a while to read while we check out every image. Lots of questions and answers and laughter. “Nanna, what’s a jumbuck? How would a giraffe get on the roof? You can’t really play cricket with cheese, can you? Are umbrellabirds real?” We googled that one so she could see pictures on real ones. Congratulations Ena – you’ve written a book you should be proud of!
